March 2011 Private Residence Wedding

In February we were contacted by a lovely bride who received our information from her photographer, Mindy Bean. She was planning an intimate wedding at a private estate that her and her family were also staying at for the week. When we met for our initial consultation she brought with her her bridal attire for inspiration. She wore a sage dress with a multi colored shawl so we pulled colors from her shawl to translate into floral beauty. Everyone had come in from Montana and were enjoying the nice desert warmth so we include accents of succulents into the floral aspects.

Large floral arrangements were delivered earlier in the week for the family to enjoy through out their time in town. On the day of the wedding we freshened up the arrangements and they were moved outside to the fountain area to double as ceremony decor.

The bride loved the idea of custom pillows for her two ring bears so we created two moss pillows accented with succulents and blooms of ranunculus. One carried an orange pillow and the other a purple inspired by the colors we used for the bridal bouquet.

With the intimacy for the ceremony the couple wanted everyone to feel like they were included. We created an "Adorn Yourself" display where guests could grab a bloom to wear where ever they pleased.

Doesn't the bridal bouquet of purples and greens look stunning with the bride's attire? The succulents tucked into the design give a fun texture to this beautiful bouquet.

Thank you Mindy for the beautiful pictures and the wonderful referral.

Nicole & Chris. A Rustic Las Vegas Wedding.

So much thought, planning and details went into Nicole and Chris's October Rustic Las Vegas Wedding that it seemed appropriate to try and share as much of it as we can on today's blog post. When we first met with Nicole she blew us away with how precise her vision was for her wedding and how extremely organized she is. She described a rustic wedding to take place at the beautiful Legends Ranch and right away our style and her vision meshed right together.

Nicole wanted everything to have a natural, earthy and very textured vibe so right away we started with the bridal party flowers. The guys wore bouts of wheat, succulents, and greens wrapped with a thin jute cord.

Nicole's bouquet was created with vendela roses, lisianthus, seeded euc, scabiosa pods and blooms, berzelia berries, wax flower and wheat. We wrapped the stems with a cream burlap and left large loops that a family brooch held into place.

To bring some color into the bridesmaid's bouquets we included touches of purple allium, misty blue and thistle. A thick country lace over a navy satin was used for the handle treatment to bring in an extra texture. The bouquets looked beautiful against the navy blue dresses.

As guests walked into the ceremony location they were greeted with a pre-ceremony cocktails. In this space we used natural wood boxes filled with cream florals and touches of greens, purples and blues on the tables. The centerpiece of this location is the pool so we floated floral accented lanterns on moss pads, they looked amazing as the sun was setting.

For the ceremony we brought in our wood arbor and decorated it was hanging lanterns, mercury votives and candle holders. To define the aisle we lined it with moss and candle stands with cylinders with mossy branch and lanterns. Guests sitting in the aisle seats were given galvanized buckets filled with petals and instructions to toss them as the couple walked back down the aisle as Mr. & Mrs.

The U shaped reception tables were lined with burlap and filled with lots of design elements including lanterns, floral arrangements, vases of mossy branch, succulents, moss and votives accented with a navy lace. At each place setting we created a little potted succulent favor that doubled as place card holders.

Congratulations Nicole and Chris!
Thank you for letting us be a part of your very special day.

Studio Warming Party. Part 2

I couldn't have been more excited when I received these images from Jessie Dawson of Artistic Imaging. It was so great to relive the night and see what a good time everyone was having. Thank you one more time to everyone who came by that night, you truly helped break in the new space.

We were fortunate enough to have the very talented Dave Ritz preform for the evening. If you are looking for someone for your wedding or event this is the guy to call.

These next two pictures mean quiet a bit to me. The first one is of myself and my mom who I can not express enough how much I appreciate. She not has been a world of help during countless weddings and events but the biggest supporter of my dreams. I truly could not do this without her. Thank you mom I love you.

The second picture is of myself and Cymbra Fraizer. Cymbra will gladly tell you all about a night herself, my mom and I went to Archi's Thai Bistro (my traditional after wedding set up dinner spot) one night after she learned all what it is like to be a wedding floral designer. That night truly put the wheels in motion of me stepping out in faith and starting my own business. Yes there was some nagging, yelling and tears over some Pad Thai but it was still a great night.  Thank you for everything Cymbra I love you.

It truly was a wonderful way to start off this wonderful new venture.
